The climate action debate took a center stage when thousands of scouts gathered in Nyeri County over the weekend during the commemoration of the Scouts Movement’s Founder Baden Powel.
To achieve the Foundation’s target of growing at least 10 million trees by 2027, there has to be a clear strategy. The Foundation has embarked on a campaign to recruit Kenyans into celebrating their birthdays by planting trees. If this campaign would be embraced, it would mean that thousands of trees would be planted every day in Kenya.

As a climate activist, Alice Wanjiru has an ambitious vision to plant at least 10 million trees by 2027. Wanjiru’s plan is to ensure that she contributes heavily in the ongoing campaign by the government to plant at least 10 billion trees in ten years. Her inspiration to achieve this vision is inspired by the understanding that over 55 million children in the world have been affected negatively by the negative effects brought about by the climate change.
